Welcome to HackTrain – the digital magazine for IT technology, cybersecurity, and forward-thinking innovation.
HackTrain was founded with one goal in mind: to present complex IT topics in a way that is understandable, engaging, and practical. We believe that knowledge is the best defense – whether you’re facing cyber threats, choosing the right tools, or building digital skills for work and everyday life.
Who We Are
Behind HackTrain is a small, passionate team of IT experts, tech nerds, analysts, and writers fully dedicated to the digital world. Our focus areas include:
- IT security & data protection
- Hacking & penetration testing
- Networks & infrastructure
- Open source & Linux
- Digital tools, software, and smart technologies
We report independently, critically, and with a practical edge. Our content isn’t just news – it’s context, guidance, and inspiration.
Our Founder: Alex “Rootman” Richter
HackTrain was founded by Alexander Richter, known in the scene as “Rootman.” With over 15 years of experience in IT security, network technology, and open-source development, Alex has audited countless security architectures, authored whitepapers, and supported red-teaming projects.
What began as a personal tech blog has grown into an expanding online magazine with readers across Germany – from IT students and sysadmins to CISOs.
Alex believes:
“Cybersecurity must not remain a topic for the elite. Everyone has the right to understand how digital systems work – and how to stay safe within them.”
When he’s not testing new exploits or writing articles, Rootman works on Raspberry Pi projects or gives workshops on „Everyday Cybersecurity.“
Our Mission
Our content is meant to inform and inspire. At HackTrain, you won’t find buzzwords – just real, in-depth content.
We stand for quality over clickbait – substance over sensation.
Whether you’re just starting your IT career or have decades of experience, HackTrain aims to provide value – clear, honest, and insightful.
